Welcome to the Immune Deficiencies Foundation of Australia Web Site !

Our Regional And Global Vision

Caring for children, teenagers, and adults with Primary Immune Deficiencies (PID) by providing financial, emotional, educational, promotional, advocacy, and specialist medical support.

The Immune Deficiency Foundation of Australia (IDFA) is dedicated to supporting people of all ages affected by Primary Immune Deficiencies (PID), their families and health care team.

IDFA is a non-profit organisation and a registered charity. It was formed in 2005 with support from the IDF/KIDS foundation of New Zealand which was founded in 1987.  IDFA is part of the Immune Deficiency Foundation Asia-Pacific Alliance.  IDFA has the support of leading Immunology health professionals both in Australia, New Zealand and Internationally.

One of the Foundations primary aims is to raise awareness of primary immune deficiencies within both the general and medical communities.  We do this by providing written materials, seminars and the resources of our medical panel.

Being diagnosed with a PID can be an overwhelming experience. Our registered patients both children and adults have a variety of health issues. Many struggle to make life as normal as possible within the restrictions placed on them by their health. Caregivers also have needs that are important to be recognised. We have found that with the support and understanding of people who have experienced similar problems, we can make it through the hard times and enjoy the good times.
