Emotional Support Services
The Foundation offers various means of Emotional support that can make a real difference to patients and families. Our Support Services Officer is available by telephone to offer free counselling services to members. IDFA Support Services can be accessed online by e-mailing
support@idfaustralia.org
or by calling freecall 1800 100 198, our Support Officer will call you back to confirm a suitable time.
We can also provide contact with other patients and families; this might be in a group situation such as patient events we offer around the country, or on a one to one basis as in family matching where we try to connect patients/ families facing similar conditions or circumstances.
When dealing with rare medical conditions these opportunities to share questions and experiences can make a huge difference to how a family can cope with a new diagnosis.
Take a look at the patient information and education program material also offered.
This list of services will expand as these divisions are established and further funding becomes available.
