What is Workplace Giving?

Workplace giving is a partnership between the IDFA, businesses and their employees to assist in the continuing the work of the IDFA. They do this by nominating, as groups of employees, to have set amounts deducted from their regular pay that they would like to donate to the IDFA.

This can be as little as $2.00 per week less than the cost of a cup of coffee…

Employer Benefits

Employers often match employee’s contributions, thus doubling the support given to the IDFA which can increase the profile of the company and its reputation and enhances corporate reputation in the community.

Knowing their employer supports a not-for-profit service such as the IDFA strengthens employee loyalty and gives a sense of pride in their workplace.  Local community involvement raises a company’s corporate profile in both metropolitan and regional areas.

Employee Benefits

  • It is a stress-free way for employees to make regular, tax deductible donations to the IDFA.
  • It’s simple – just one form to be completed by the employee specifying the amount to be donated each pay period.
  • It’s flexible – you can join, alter or withdraw at any time It’s tax deductible.
  • It’s a good feeling to know you are making a difference to someone’s life

How does it work?

An employee signs up to Workplace Giving by completing a simple form, nominating the regular payroll deduction amount. The form goes to your payroll department where they deduct the nominated amount from the employee's weekly, fortnightly or monthly pay. The total amount is then remitted to the Foundation usually each month. At the end of the financial year, an employee's PAYG summary will contain the necessary donation information for their tax return.

For more information, contact the IDFA on 1800 100 198 or complete the Workplace Giving Form and return it to your payroll department.
